For more than 20 years Everett, a self-taught artist, has been involved in collecting and creating works of art. He currently conducts art workshops for Central Florida youth and is former owner of The Ethnic Art Gallery, Orlando, Florida.
Everett advocates the necessity of art to enrich our lives and firmly believes the arts help us all become well -rounded and constructive individuals. Everett is most known for his early collages and works on paper, notably, his "Old School Jazz and Blues Series", which feature colorful images of the fathers and legends of our own American art form known as Jazz.
Are you an ArtIST or Collector?
Both
What are you collecting?
I collect African Mask, Sculptures and of course fine art by African Americans.
When I first started collecting Black art, as it is often called, it was either out of reach financially or hard to find. As a result I found European, and Contemporary American art to be affordable and accessable. But I'm glad to say all that has changed and art by African Americans is on the rise. No way to hold us down. The cream always rises to the top. As a former Gallery owner I acquired lots of works by artists like, Mr. Imagination, Burkeydean Jackson, Arthur Rayford, Carlton Hardy and Jane Turner.

It has been very quiet here. Please let us know how things are coming along? What projects you are working on? Are you doing anything special for June as it is Art and Music Month? Just wondering.
Keep up the great work and look forward to speaking with you soon.
Thank you for your comments. I have shared your networking link already on various listservs that I am apart of and as a result of that, I believe some people joined. If you are interested in supporting or purchasing any of my art just let me know.
